Bar Products Company Spra-Kool Midget Coolant Mister

The Spra-Kool Midget Mister is a complete simplified coolant generator. I ordered one a few weeks ago and have been testing it in my shop, since it works well I decided to sell them. It is an inexpensive solution to those wishing to have coolant mist on a machine tool.
Bar Products has been making the Spra-Kool for over 30 years and it is a time tested method of applying coolant spray for all machining operations where flood coolant is not required. Satisfaction is guaranteed. The unit is machined from solid brass

The unit is not a standalone coolant mister. As with most air powered misters (Kool-Mist, Noga, etc.) you will need a compressed air supply of 30psi to 150psi, fittings to connect to the air supply, a container for your coolant (any plastic container will work, I use a water bottle) and coolant. I use Kool Mist brand coolant, but any soluable coolant can be used. I have operated the Spra-Kool on 20psi from an airbrush compressor, but this is not recommended.

To install and use, simply attach the ball check fitting to the air supply, drop the suction tube into a coolant container and locate the nozzle by means of the spring wire attaching clip. A removeable strainer at the end of the suction tube prevents clogging. The nozzle can be adjusted from a fine mist to a heavy wet spray.

OUT OF STOCK, I WILL NOT BE CARRYING THIS ITEM ANYMORE - Sorry!

The unit as it is shipped.
The hose from the nozzle tip to the ball check air fitting is 45".
The hose from the nozzle tip to coolant end is 67", allowing the coolant container to be placed almost anywhere.
The ball check air fitting and coolant siphon ends.
The nozzle can be positioned by bending the 8" long spring wire, using the loop for attaching the mist unit to the machine.
The Spra-Kool mounted on a 10" lathe. The wire is clamped to the toolpost between two washers and a nut.

The Spra-Kool mounted on the Taig Milling Machine. The wire is clamped to the headstock by a screw and washers. When mounting remember that you always want the tip of the nozzle to follow the tool.

One caveat: Mist cooling can be messy, as the mist can form a fog in the shop with continuous use. If you are using the unit for long periods of time consider making an enclosure for smaller CNC machines, or having some manner of venting the mist on larger machines. This is true of all mist units. I personally prefer a fine mist of coolant to a choking smoke and messy spray from cutting oil applied to hot work, or worse, blue hot chips burning my arms on work cut dry. Adding a regulator valve to the unit makes it easier to turn on and off between operations.
